“A leader is someone that inspires a team by earning their trust and respect via good example and being competent at what he or she does.   A leader is authentic in building on this relationship with them and pushes them to reach their potential.  A leader must motivate in times of change and manages the change in order for the team to reach the collective goal.”

In her workplace, where she has been for over 30 years, all staff including radiologists, technologists, reception, booking and even IT looks to her for guidance.  She is always available to provide mammo advice – either in person or remotely.

With her kind, genuine nature, she treats everyone with respect and goes out of her way to provide the best experience for patients and staff alike.  From her confident nature, she instills confidence in others.

A great leader has a strong sense of collaboration.  Whether it be within her own imaging modality as the mammography technical coordinator for MIC Medical Imaging and the mammo team lead, or fostering interprofessional relationships with all breast imaging modalities such as sonography, MR and the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Brigitte has fostered a healthy, positive relationship among all areas.
