Upgrading and Cross Specialty Upgrading

Upgrading

Under the provision of the Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologist Regulation of the Health Professions Act (HPA), an individual who has not practiced as a technologist/therapist for at least 800 hours during the previous five years is not eligible for registration in their specialty within the province of Alberta.

Upgrading programs are available in the medical radiation technology specialties to prepare applicants to re-establish their eligibility to practice as active, qualified members of the College.

Please contact the College for more information on upgrading.
