Status of MRT and ENP eligibility for COVID-19 vaccine
Alberta is currently in Phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccine program. Health-care providers who may be involved in clinical practice (i.e., have face-to-face interactions with patients, clients, residents of health-care facilities, etc.) are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the Phase 2C vaccine rollout. For more details on who is eligible during this phase, please see the COVID-19 Vaccine: Phase 2C – Eligibility criteria for Albertans to receive the COVID-19 vaccine document. To book an appointment or get more information, please visit alberta.ca/vaccine.
We understand that some of our members are still not eligible for the vaccine and may be concerned; however, decisions related to pandemic response are not within the scope of the College. Decisions about the vaccine rollout are made by the provincial government and AHS. Advocating for members is also outside the scope of a regulatory college.
We recommend that you reach out to your employer if you have any concerns regarding the vaccine rollout. We will update this page and notify our members if there are any new developments on this important topic.
