Membership meetings removed from bylaws

The Health Professions Act (HPA) does not require the College to hold an annual membership meeting, while the Alberta Societies Act, which governs professional associations in the province, does require these types of meetings. Change to PLI requirement
Administrator2021-07-21T13:09:22-06:00The College now requires regulated members to hold professional liability insurance (PLI) that covers a minimum of $2,000,000 per occurrence (previously $1,000,000). A review of the most common PLI policies held by our members (e.g., CAMRT, AHS and Medical Imaging Ed) shows that they already meet this new standard; however, all regulated members should verify that their current policy offers sufficient coverage. Registration changes now completed online

Response to CAMRT position statement

Decision of the hearing tribunal: Jeffrey Wolff
Adrienne Hislop2024-03-01T11:23:51-07:00A hearing tribunal has found Jeffrey Wolff guilty of unprofessional conduct for engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student while he was their preceptor, providing students with examination materials without authorization, and failing to comply with his duty to cooperate with the investigation conducted by the College. The tribunal ordered that Mr. Wolff receive a reprimand and pay the full costs of the investigation and hearing, and ordered that Mr. Wolff’s registration with the College be cancelled. [...]
Upcoming changes due to HPA amendments

These amendments require that the College only carry out professional regulatory duties in the public interest and prohibit the College from carrying out association and member services functions. Perspectives – ENP Enhanced Practice Authorization
