Bill 46 Update: Branches

The College’s branches were originally established to provide members opportunities for education, networking and discussion. Amendments to the Health Professions Act (HPA) introduced by Bill 46 require that the College only carry out professional regulatory duties in the public interest, which has a direct impact on branches. Bill 46, the Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2020 (No. 2), introduced a suite of amendments to the Health Professions Act (HPA). The College is pleased to announce that Mary Buzzing, ENP, has been appointed to Council for the 2022-2025 term, which begins on July 1. Mary has been an ENP technologist since the 1980s and a regulated member of the ACMDTT since its inception in 2005. She brings experience with health care systems in Alberta and abroad, and expertise in interprofessional practice. Registration Renewal 2022

The online registration renewal system for 2022 was open from October 1 to December 31, 2021. During that time, 2395 out of 2428 general members and all 12 temporary members renewed their practice permits. This means that close to 99% of all regulated members renewed their practice permits by completing all legally mandated requirements to practice the profession in Alberta in 2022.
