The online annual registration renewal system opens this Friday, October 1! All regulated members of the College who plan to practice the profession in 2022 must renew their registration by November 30, 2021, to avoid an additional administration charge. The upgraded member portal went live almost a year ago, and we have continued to develop, test and release new features during that time. The most recent improvement is the implementation of registration change pathways, which allow existing and former members to apply for a different register online. Applications for temporary registration are now available online through My Profile. Details on how to apply can be found on the Temporary Registration page. The College will be hosting a virtual presentation about temporary practice permits at noon on Tuesday, May 11, for students about to graduate from their educational programs. Over 97% of regulated members have renewed by completing all of the legally mandated registration requirements to practice the profession in Alberta in 2021. Thank you for continuing to demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to Albertans’ care despite the challenges of the year. Registration renewal for 2021 opened on October 1. General and associate members’ current registration will expire on December 31, 2020, and they need to log in to the online member portal, My Profile, to complete their renewal by November 30, 2020. So far, approximately 13% of our members have already completed their renewal. As our members renew their registration using the new renewal system, the College is continuing to roll out further upgrades to the online member portal. We are pleased to announce that Alberta graduates and Canadian transfer applicants are now able to apply for general registration online, which significantly streamlines the process and improves the application experience for future technologists.
