Didn’t Renew for 2023? How to Register
On December 31, 2022, at midnight, the online Annual Renewal system for 2023 will close for registrants of the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostics and Therapeutic Technologists (the College).
Registrants who did not renew and want an Active Practice Permit for 2023 must contact the College for a Renewal Declaration form and submit it with payment by February 10. (Please note that the College will be closed from December 26 to January 2 and will reopen on January 3.) The fee will be a registration fee of $450 plus an administrative fee of $150 for a total of $600. Allow a minimum of 3 business days for processing.
Renewal Timeline
- Mid-December 2022: Employers were notified about any registrants we have listed as employees who have not yet completed renewal so the employer plan around potential service disruptions.
- December 31, 2022: The online registration renewal system closes.
- January 1, 2023: Registrants who have not completed their renewal will have their permits administratively suspended and must contact the College to complete their registration.
- February 11, 2023: Registrants who had their permits administratively suspended will have their permits administratively cancelled.
Don’t Practice Without a Valid Practice Permit
Only registrants with a valid, unexpired ACMDTT Practice Permit (Active or Temporary registration types) are authorized to work in Alberta or use the title “MRT” or “ENP” according to section 43 of the Health Professions Act.
Practicing without a permit is a serious offence and may be subject to the Complaints process.
Confirm Registration on Public Register
To ensure MRT or ENP employees are permitted to practice in 2023, Alberta employers are strongly encouraged to confirm the employee’s current registration status using the College’s Public Register.
