Participation in the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) is a mandatory part of registration outlined in the Health Professions Act and the College’s Standards of Practice.

The CCP requires that all registrants complete an annual reflective practice review, including:

  • (a) a personal assessment of the registrant’s own practice.

  • (b) the development and implementation of a learning plan that follows the registrant’s personal assessment of their practice.

  • (c) a written evaluation of the result of the learning pursuant to the learning plan.

Non-compliance with CCP requirements is considered unprofessional conduct and could place a registrant’s practice permit at risk. The Competence Committee will refer the matter to the Complaints Director.

The annual CCP cycle begins on October 1 and ends with the final submission deadline of September 30.

How to Complete Your CCP

Use the following resources to understand and complete your annual CCP:

Select My CCP on the College Portal dashboard

Your Reflective Practice review is made up of individual learning records also known as Objectives.

To create a learning record, click the blue Add button. You can create as many learning records as you require.

The Self-Assessment asks the registrant to identify potential areas for new or continued learning.

Choose a Standard, Sub-Standard and Activity that you would like to enhance your knowledge, skills, and education.

  • Type the name of the Title of your activity
  • Choose the completion status (Cancel/In-progress will not count towards the total hours complete)
  • Choose the Completion Date
  • Choose the hours for the activity (The maximum hours are pre-determined and will be available to you to view in the previous step)

All profession-related learning may be used towards a registrant’s CCP requirements.

Overview of Activity Content

The registrant must describe in this section in 1-2 sentences an outline of the learning activity, such as a description of a course or presentation, a summary of a book or website, and the purpose of a conference.

To add more Objectives/hours, select ‘Add’.

Please remember to save your work regularly. The system will automatically log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity, and frequent saving will help prevent the loss of any work in progress.

You can Save for Later and return to complete your hours later. Once you have entered all of your hours, you must click Submit to complete the requirement.

Note: After the form has been submitted, it will be locked and can no longer be edited.
