Annual Renewal Ends Dec. 31 for 2024

The online Annual Renewal system for 2024 will close at midnight on December 31, 2023, for all registrants of the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostics and Therapeutic Technologists (the College). MRT and ENP registrant’s 2023 practice permits for Alberta expire on the same date.
If you fail to renew your registration before the deadline, you must contact the College to obtain a Renewal Declaration form and submit it along with payment before February 12, 2024, to get an Active Practice Permit for 2024. Please keep in mind that the college will be closed starting December 25 and will reopen on January 2. Renewals with supervisor approvals for Additional and Enhanced Practice Authorizations will not be processed during this time. The registration fee will be $450, and an additional administrative fee of $150 will be charged, making the total cost $600. Please allow for a minimum of 3 business days for processing.
Can’t Practice Without a Permit
Only registrants with a current, unexpired Practice Permit (Active or Temporary registration) from the College are authorized to practice in Alberta and use the title “MRT” or “ENP” (according to section 43 of the Health Professions Act). Practicing without a permit is a serious offence and may be referred to the Complaints Director for further action through the Complaints process.Renewal Timeline
- Mid-December 2023: Employers are notified about non-renewed employees.
- December 31, 2023: The online registration renewal system closes.
- January 1, 2024: Registrants who have not completed their renewal will have their permits administratively suspended and must contact the College to complete their renewal.
- February 12, 2024: Registrants who had their permits administratively suspended will have their permits administratively cancelled.
