Registration is mandatory. To practice as an Electroneurophysiology Technologist (ENP) in Alberta and use all protected titles, you must be registered with the College and hold an active practice permit.

Who can apply as a Temporary Registration ENP applicant?

This route applies to you if:

  • You have met all the registration requirements, but you still need to pass the approved certification examination, and you have a valid job offer in the province of Alberta.

OR

You are an internationally educated ENP who has met all the registration requirements, but you still need to pass the approved certification examination, and you have a valid job offer in the province of Alberta. You also must be eligible to practice in Canada.

Before Applying

Requirement: Personal Information and Contact Details

Upload the following while completing your application:

  •  Two (2) pieces of photo IDs to validate your identity

If your legal name doesn’t match your ID or verification documents, you must submit proof of name change with a government-issued document.

Upload a letter from the educational institute confirming you have graduated from an ENP program.

OR

Upload one of the following:

  • Your official transcripts: Your education institution can send them directly from MyCreds.ca to registration@acmdtt.com. If you can’t obtain your transcripts directly through MyCreds, please contact your educational institute to have them sent to the College directly.

OR

  • A notarized copy of your Diploma: A certified true copy signed by a notary public. 

*Note: Official transcripts sent from a personal email address or a copy of a diploma that is not notarized will not be accepted. This may delay your application processing time.

OR

  • Proof you passed formal language testing.

The College requires all necessary documents and payment of invoiced fees to be submitted within three (3) months of the application date.

After three (3) months of no activity on your file, your application will be closed. To continue with the application process, you will need to reapply with updated documents and pay all subsequent fees.

Applying

  1. Register for your account on MyProfile.
  2. On your MyProfile homepage, locate the section named ‘Certification Exams and ACMDTT Professional Development Courses’ and select the ‘+’ sign beside the Regulatory Education Module to complete the exam.
  3. See the “Before Applying” tab for registration requirements.
  4. Select Apply to begin your application.
  5. Select “Apply” under the Temporary Tab on your MyProfile home screen.
    OR
    If you are an internationally educated ENP, click “Complete” under the “Secondary Specialty Application” Tab on your MyProfile home screen.
  6. Complete your application form by:
    – Providing your demographic, competency, and eligibility information and uploading the required documents.
    – Answering questions regarding your conduct and compliance.
  7. Review your application to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  8. Select ‘Submit’.

After the College receives your application, we will invoice you for the application fee.

Pay the application fee on MyProfile.

  • The College will not review your application until the fee is paid.

After Applying

Within three (3) business days after you apply, the College will confirm the receipt of your application.

  • Your application will be processed only after the application fee is paid.
  • Your application status will remain “submitted” until it is reviewed by the college.

Within ten (10) business days after your invoice is paid, the College will review your application.

  • Once your application is reviewed, the College will notify you if it is incomplete and provide instructions on completing it.
  • If your application remains incomplete or inactive for three months, it will be closed, and you will need to reapply to continue.

OR

Within ten (10) business days after confirming a complete application, the College will process your application.

  • Once complete, the College will assess your application to ensure it meets the stated registration requirements and issue you a decision letter.

The College aims to meet these timelines; however, some applications may be more complex. If the College requires more time to make a decision, you will be notified. According to the legislation, the College has up to six months to render a registration decision.

You cannot practice until you receive a decision letter approving your registration application.

  • You will be placed on the College’s general register and issued a practice permit only after your application is approved, and all payments are received in full. Once these steps are complete, you will receive your decision letter.

  • Unpaid invoices
  • Missing, incorrect or incomplete documents
  • Information about your character, conduct, competence, or health that may require further review.
  • Unclear criminal record check
  • No recent professional experience
  • Have not written or passed the approved certification examination
  • Completed an education program that is not approved and/or not delivered in English.

  • You are allowed to have a Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) for up to one year.
  • You MUST complete your registration requirements within one year of receiving your TPP.
    • The College strongly advises taking each consecutive certification examination (as necessary) within the allotted one-year timeframe. No TPP extensions will be granted to complete unused examination attempts.
  • Your TPP will expire on December 31. To keep your TPP after December 31 (for the remainder of your one-year maximum), you must renew your TPP before it expires.
  • When you have completed your registration requirements and received your CAMRT exam results, we strongly advise you to apply for General Registration within seven (7) days on My Profile.
  • Once you have received your General Registration, we remind you that:
    • Your general practice permit will expire on December 31.
    • To continue practicing, you must renew your general practice permit for the following year by December 31.
