The College’s Regulation Education Module (REM) provides registrants with the information they need to know and understand practice standards and the responsibilities of being a regulated health professional in Alberta.

Topics

There are five modules on the following topics:

  • Module 1: Legislation
    • The Health Professions Act and other statutes of legislation
  • Module 2: Public Accountability
    • The complaints process and other ways in which the College is accountable to Albertans
  • Module 3: Professional Practice
    • The restricted activities that registrants are authorized to perform
  • Module 4: Standards and Ethics
    • The Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Module 5: Continuing Competence Program
    • The Continuing Competence Program

Mandatory for Applicants

New applicants to the College must complete the REM and pass the exam as part of their registration process.

Current College registrants may use the learning gained while completing the REM towards their Continuing Competence Program (CCP) requirements. Registrants may claim up to one (1) hour per CCP cycle for this learning activity.

Exam

The ‘Regulation Education Module’ exam is available on My Profile under the tab ‘Certification Exams and ACMDTT Professional Development Courses’.

The exam has 28 multiple-choice questions. You must achieve 100% to pass this course.

  • You may not complete, partially or in full, this module on behalf of someone else.
  • You may not allow anyone to complete, partially or in full, this module on your behalf.
  • You may not distribute the REM questions/answers to anyone.
