All registrants on a general and provisional register must obtain and maintain continuous personal professional liability insurance (PLI) at all times, regardless of role or employment setting.

To ensure compliance with the PLI requirement, the Registrar may at any time make a written request for an applicant or registrant to provide proof of PLI coverage and proof of meeting the PLI policy requirements within 30 days of receipt of the written request according to the Bylaws.

Non-Compliance

A registrant who has a lapse in coverage of PLI, does not submit the audit form, or does not submit the correct proof of insurance certificate by the 30-day deadline may result in:

  • A condition placed on their practice permit with requirements for further action.
  • Your practice permit may be suspended, and your employer will be notified. This means you cannot practice as an MRT or ENP until all audit requirements are completed.
  • A reference to the Complaints Director.
  • A non-compliance levy as per the College Fee Schedule.
